Features & benefits
5 EDGE Miles per ₹100 on direct travel
Airline bookings made directly with the airline and spends on the Axis Travel Edge portal earn an accelerated 5 EDGE Miles for every ₹100 spent. Bookings through travel agents or online travel agencies earn only 2 EDGE Miles per ₹100.
2 EDGE Miles per ₹100 on other spends
All other eligible spends earn a flat 2 EDGE Miles per ₹100, so the card keeps rewarding you off the runway too.
Airline and hotel transfer partners
EDGE Miles move to a broad list of airline and hotel partners, mostly at 1:1, with a few (British Airways, Finnair and Vietnam Airlines) at 2:1. A minimum of 500 EDGE Miles is needed to transfer.

2 complimentary international lounge visits per calendar quarter for the primary cardholder, subject to the card's usage terms.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Strong 5 EDGE Miles per ₹100 on direct airline and Axis Travel Edge bookings, one of the better direct-travel earn rates around
- Generous lounge access: up to 8 domestic visits a quarter on Visa (6 on Mastercard) and 2 international visits a quarter
- EDGE Miles transfer 1:1 to a wide list of airline and hotel partners, useful for high-value redemptions
- Easy 5,000 EDGE Miles welcome benefit that unlocks on just ₹1,000 of spend within 30 days
- 1,500 EDGE Miles credited on renewal from the second year, which softens the annual fee
- Remains open to new applicants and keeps the EDGE Miles ecosystem accessible now that Axis Atlas is closed to fresh applications
Cons
- No spend-based fee waiver: ₹3,000 + GST is charged every year unless you qualify for the Burgundy waiver
- Everyday spends earn only 2 EDGE Miles per ₹100, so non-travel categories build up slowly
- The 5x rate applies only to direct airline and Axis Travel Edge bookings; travel agents and online travel agencies earn just 2 EDGE Miles per ₹100
- Long exclusion list: fuel, rent, utilities and telecom, insurance, education, government, wallet loads and transport or tolls earn nothing
- 3.5% foreign currency markup is high for a card aimed at international flyers
- Value depends heavily on transferring miles well, so casual users may not extract the full benefit

In-depth review
Overview
The Axis Bank Horizon Credit Card is a travel focused card built around Axis Bank's EDGE Miles programme. It launched in mid 2024 and targets people who book their own flights and spend a fair bit of time in airports. With Axis Atlas now closed to new applicants, Horizon has become one of the more accessible ways into the EDGE Miles ecosystem. The pitch is simple: earn accelerated miles on air travel, move those miles to airline and hotel partners, and enjoy generous lounge access along the way.
Rewards and earning
You earn 5 EDGE Miles for every ₹100 spent on airline bookings made directly with the airline and on the Axis Travel Edge portal. Every other eligible spend earns 2 EDGE Miles per ₹100. One thing to note: if you book flights through a travel agent or an online travel agency rather than directly, you earn only 2 EDGE Miles per ₹100, not the accelerated 5. The real strength of EDGE Miles is transferability. They move to a long list of airline and hotel partners, mostly at a 1:1 ratio, though a few partners (British Airways, Finnair and Vietnam Airlines) transfer at 2:1. Used well, that flexibility can push the value of each mile above a plain cashback card.
Be aware of the exclusions. Spends on fuel, rent, wallet loads, utilities and telecom, insurance, education, government payments and transport or tolls do not earn any EDGE Miles. Since these are large chunks of monthly spending for many households, your effective earn rate depends a lot on how much of your spend is actual travel and retail.
New cardholders get 5,000 EDGE Miles once their first transaction is ₹1,000 or more within 30 days of issuance, which is very easy to hit. From the second year, 1,500 EDGE Miles are credited on each renewal, which softens the annual fee.
Fees
The joining fee is ₹3,000 plus GST and the annual fee is the same ₹3,000 plus GST from the second year. There is no spend-based waiver on this card. The only way the fee goes away is if you are an eligible Axis Burgundy Savings Account customer, for whom Axis Bank waives it subject to its own conditions. The foreign currency markup is 3.5%, which is on the higher side for a card aimed at international travellers, so weigh that against the miles you earn abroad. Finance charges run up to 3.6% per month (about 52.86% per year) on revolving balances. There is a standard 1% fuel surcharge waiver on transactions between ₹400 and ₹5,000, capped at ₹400 a month.
Eligibility
The card is open to resident Indians who are salaried or self-employed, usually between 18 and 70 years of age, with a stable income that meets Axis Bank's criteria for a Visa Signature or Mastercard World card. Final approval and the credit limit depend on the bank's assessment of your profile.
Who it is for
This card suits frequent flyers who book their own tickets, value lounge comfort and are happy to transfer miles to partners to get the best value. The lounge access is a highlight: up to 8 domestic visits a quarter on the Visa variant (6 on Mastercard) and 2 international visits a quarter for the primary cardholder. If most of your spending goes to fuel, rent and utilities, or you simply prefer flat cashback with no effort, this is not the right fit.
Verdict
As a travel card, the Horizon does the important things well: strong earning on direct flight bookings, flexible transfer partners and lounge access that can genuinely pay for the fee if you fly often. The catch is the flat ₹3,000 plus GST fee with no spend-based waiver, a meaningful exclusion list and a 3.5% forex markup. If you fly regularly and will actually use the miles and lounges, it earns its keep. If you want a low-effort everyday rewards card, look elsewhere.
